Personalized Tips for Your Dog
๐Ÿฉบ These calculations are estimates based on standard veterinary formulas (RER ร— activity factor). Individual dogs vary significantly based on health conditions, breed, and metabolism. Always consult your veterinarian before making major dietary changes โ€” especially for dogs with kidney disease, diabetes, or heart conditions.

How the Calculator Works

Based on veterinary-standard formulas adjusted for senior dogs.

1

Resting Energy (RER)

We calculate your dog's Resting Energy Requirement: the calories needed at complete rest, based on body weight using the formula 70 ร— (weight in kg)โฐยทโทโต.

2

Activity Adjustment

We multiply RER by a mobility factor. Senior dogs need 20โ€“40% fewer calories than younger dogs at equivalent activity levels, as their metabolism slows with age.

3

Treat Budget (10%)

Veterinary guidelines recommend treats should not exceed 10% of daily calories. We split your total into meals (90%) and treats (10%) to keep your dog healthy.
